JazzElPaso Connection presents the last concert in a series celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month
concluding with “JAZZ’n KING OF SWING”. This tribute to the King of Swing, Benny
Goodman, features international recording artist Mack Goldsbury on clarinet & sax with special
guest Mike Francis on keys backed up with the New Impressions including Ricky Malichi on
drums, Eric Unsworth on bass and Curt Warren on guitar. For this event, the Lancer's Club is
open to the public...no membership required. Dinner buffet specials available.
Mack Goldsbury is one of the few who have been able to
successfully cross boundaries between Jazz and Pop. He has played
worldwide while sharing the stage with many greats such as Stevie
Wonder, Tony Bennett, Stanley Turrentine, Billy Eckstine, Etta
Jones, Temptations, Les Elgard Big Band, and Jimmy Dorsey
Orchestra. Mack recorded and collaborated in over 50 CD
productions. His recordings have been in the Top Ten from Boston
to Texas to Berlin. He is the recipient of a Grammy Nomination for Best Jazz Solo on a Best
Record "Signs of Life" with Charlie Elgart.
Proceeds of this event benefit the mission of JazzElPaso Connection by promoting, sponsoring,
and showcasing quality live jazz entertainment throughout the greater El Paso region while
contributing to the education and musical enrichment of our area’s youth. JazzElPaso
