The Internet in some ways can be compared to turn-of-the-century newspapering, when new printing press technology allowed unprecedented numbers of people to communicate through print. As David Romo has pointed out in his book, "Ringside Seat to a Revolution," the Borderland was packed with publishers.
It is again, as the Internet provides an easy-to-use, inexpensive platform for people of all opinions.
What follows are some highlights from the El Paso "blogosphere." A hot topic: The resolution by El Paso County Commissioners Court.

On the Strelz forum:
Regarding Tom Ogle and the Ogle car:
"This story never sat well with me. Trish Long's blog has touched on it again. Hey, Strelz, do you know Mack Massey? I believe he was a personal friend of Mr. Ogle's. Maybe you can have him on your show. Anybody else know anything?"
Regarding the Commissioner's Court Resolution on the border fence:
"Our security on the border is our connection to the Mexican people. Our business relationships, family connections and friendships are the ties that bind us and protect us. How do we benefit from breaking those ties by building walls and making our connections to the Mexican people more difficult? chickenlittle was in the Army to defend us at war. We are not at war with Mexico."

On the Lionstar blog (by the way, the Lionstar has a new website and look):
Just outside of the metro area lies the Multi-Use Facility in Horizon City, Texas. This facility houses mostly out-of-town felons transitioning from the prison system back into the real world. About 60-75% of the offenders housed at the facility are sex offenders, most of who are from another part of Texas. Here’s why this matters to you. The inmates are transported by the bus load into various locations in town DAILY.

On Refuse the Juice:
The County of El Paso was actually at work on Monday and our fearless elected leaders on the Commissioner's Court approved multiple pieces of vital legislation that were necessary to move our county forward. Just kidding. They passed a resolution that holds about as much water as a paper bag..

Like the Lionstar, the Avocadoan also has a new look. Here is their take on the commissioners resolution regarding the border fence:
The Avocadoan also has these Reasons to Drink:
Don’t ask me how I got beer this early on a Sunday. The vieja is going to be mad at me for missing church. Here’s to Jorge Baginski & Jorge Valenzuela, who were both ordered by the City to stop construction on their houses after their soon-to-be neighbors complained about their designs.
