Marcus Hunt, businessman and civic leader, dead at 36
It is rare for a leader in Marcus' position to have such an open and eager mind. His loss is a huge one for El Paso. Marcus, thank you for talking to me about Africa, for coming to our book group, and for trying to make El Paso a better place. You did. My thoughts are with your family. -- Vanessa

I'm in shock and saddened by the loss of Marcus Hunt. Marcus has been a lifelong friend and one of the few who decided to move back home to El Paso to make it a better place. Marcus had an incredible ability of bringing different El Pasoans together to achieve a common goal. Marcus understood the big picture and shared his vision with many about what El Paso has the potential to become. Countless non profit boards have benefited from Marcus' ideas and skill at cultivating those concepts through to completion. I still cannot believe he is gone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Marcus. You will be missed. -- Jack Niland

Mr. Hunt's age wasn't given but he seemed far too young to die of old age. We are all mortals and simply have to wait for our time to come. I believe that no one dies until they are no longer remembered. -- Ken G

Words cannot describe this tragedy. Marcus was one of my oldest and dearest friends and one of the funniest and most intelligent people any of us are ever likely to meet. Though grief-stricken, my mind is flooded with beautiful memories of a superb human being and a friendship more akin to brotherhood. My deepest sympathies and most powerful prayers go out to the Hunt family, Marcus's absolutely perfect wife, Stacey, and their two gorgeous daughters. The world could not and will not be the same without Marcus, but his spirit will carry on in the lives of every person that ever had the good fortune of meeting him. I love you brother...Go With God. -- Bret Gum
