AP: “Sooners should have too much pride not to be motivated” at Sun Bowl
Oklahoma (7-5) has played in a BCS game six of the past seven seasons and started the 2009 campaign expecting to return again before a slew of injuries derailed those hopes. But Simmons said the Sooners should have too much pride not to be motivated when they face No. 19 Stanford (8-4) on Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas.

Stanford coach hires dad for Sun Bowl
Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh didn't even have to interview the man he chose as interim running backs coach. He already knew his dad pretty well.
Jack Harbaugh, who was Stanford's defensive coordinator in the early 1980s under Paul Wiggin, will join his son's staff for the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, on Dec. 31.

Oklahoma Daily: Expect sunny weather at Sun Bowl
When Sooner fans travel to the 76th annual Brut Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, on New Year’s Eve, they can expect one sure factor: sunny weather.
“We have sunshine in the city 310 days out of the year,” said Pifas Silva, communications manager of the El Paso Convention Center and Visitors Bureau. “We usually wear a T-shirt and shorts to the game because it will be in the late 60s, early 70s for the game. You can bring a light sweater, but I guarantee you’ll take it off by halftime.”
