Dee Margo had Gov. Rick Perry as the star guest at a Plaza Theatre fundraiser. We're not sure how they got in, since nobody left or entered from the front.

We tried to get in, but the press wasn't invited.

Meanwhile, outside, people who oppose Asarco's reopening, and the recent TCEQ decision to grant the air pollution permit, tried to get the governor's attention.

Maybe that's why the SUV took off so quickly it almost ran us over.

Anyway, here's a little slide show with photos and comments from the people outside.

GOVERNOR RICK PERRY ENDORSES DEE MARGO FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE

El Paso – Dee Margo welcomed Governor Rick Perry to Ella Blu on North Mesa today. Governor Perry offered the following statement in support of Dee Margo.

“Dee is a person who can cut right to the heart of an issue, craft solutions that work on paper and in real life, and build consensus that leads to results. That, to me, is the very definition of a state representative. And that is why the people of El Paso should cast their vote for Dee Margo,” said Governor Perry.

A poll released Sunday by the El Paso Times and Channel 9 showed the voters of district 78 are ready for a fresh start. Dee will continue to go door to door to tell every voter of his hopeful and optimistic plan for district 78 and ask for their support.

“I’m honored Governor Perry has endorsed me. I look forward to working with the Governor to cut taxes, control spending and prepare our children for the 21st century. Today is the first day of early voting and having the support of the top Republican in the state will only help us bring the change we need to district 78,” said Margo.
