Dee Margo is back in the game, with a Dee-B-Q scheduled at the end of the month (May 30) at the El Paso Chile Company, 909 Texas Ave.

Margo sure does throw a creative party. (See link at bottom of article for the invitation.)

Meanwhile, his Democratic opponent for the House District 78 seat, Joe Moody, is hustling up some cash himself. He had fundraisers scheduled May 1 and last week.

With that in mind, let's take a bit of a look back at what has been called by some political observers the top House race in the state.

The Inner Loop 2: Moody Memo Mocks Margo Memo, April 9, 2008, by Owen White. "Back and forth with Moody and Margo. Only what, six months to go? In this missive, Moody rebuts the Margo camp claims about an electoral advantage in District 78."

The Inner Loop: Margo Numbers Memo, April 2, 2008, by Owen White. "A numbers explanation from the Margo campaign. Democrats may have voted 2-1 over Republicans in the primary, but don't let that fool you, Margo's campaign states."

The Inner Loop: Margo Caps Moody Contribution Challenge, March 26, 2008, by Owen White. "Money time already? They're serious about this one. While the Democrats battle for a primary coronation in the April 8 runoff, a November general election race is shaping up."

Opinion: In Haggerty-Margo Race, Moody Wins, Feb. 1, 2008, by David Karlsruher. "More Democrats voted in the 78th district than Republicans in 2006. Maybe the district is only Republican because Haggerty is such a moderate. It's feasable that the district is one big fence sitter. While we watch Haggerty and Margo duke it out, Moody is quietly planning his coup."
