Dee Margo is back in the game, with a Dee-B-Q scheduled at the end of the month (May 30) at the El Paso Chile Company, 909 Texas Ave.
Margo sure does throw a creative party. (See link at bottom of article for the invitation.)
Meanwhile, his Democratic opponent for the House District 78 seat, Joe Moody, is hustling up some cash himself. He had fundraisers scheduled May 1 and last week.
With that in mind, let's take a bit of a look back at what has been called by some political observers the top House race in the state.

The Inner Loop: Margo, Moody, Money, April 29, 2008, by Owen White. "This race is so much fun. Thank you, Dee Margo and Joseph Moody!"
***
The Inner Loop 2: Moody Memo Mocks Margo Memo, April 9, 2008, by Owen White. "Back and forth with Moody and Margo. Only what, six months to go? In this missive, Moody rebuts the Margo camp claims about an electoral advantage in District 78."
***
The Inner Loop: Margo Numbers Memo, April 2, 2008, by Owen White. "A numbers explanation from the Margo campaign. Democrats may have voted 2-1 over Republicans in the primary, but don't let that fool you, Margo's campaign states."
***
The Inner Loop: Margo Caps Moody Contribution Challenge, March 26, 2008, by Owen White. "Money time already? They're serious about this one. While the Democrats battle for a primary coronation in the April 8 runoff, a November general election race is shaping up."

Opinion: In Haggerty-Margo Race, Moody Wins, Feb. 1, 2008, by David Karlsruher. "More Democrats voted in the 78th district than Republicans in 2006. Maybe the district is only Republican because Haggerty is such a moderate. It's feasable that the district is one big fence sitter. While we watch Haggerty and Margo duke it out, Moody is quietly planning his coup."

I don't want a DUMBOCRAT representing my district. They have command of the rest of El Paso, and they have THEIR OWN interests in mind. Dee has a history of contributing to EL PASO while DUMBOCRATS rape us.

I am still waiting to hear why Moody is qualified? Yes I know his daddy has been on the bench for a long time and has never been challanged? Yes I know he is an attorney who works at the District Attorney's Office where many young lawyers usually find employment returning to El Paso. Yes I know that many lawyers that know his daddy will endorse or contribute to his campaign? But I ask again WHAT makes him qualified to run for Office. What has he done for El Paso? What will he do to change the political stagnation long held by Paul Moreno and Pat Haggarety that entailed fighting Craddick on every corner while leaving El Paso's interest at the door?
Other than his snazzy My Space information that has been removed, Who is this guy and Why is he qualified. A name associated by a District Judge is just not enough for my book. El Paso needs a change and the Democrats have not accomplished anything except a great distaste in the far West and East Texas Reps minds, and I refuse to send someone there to carry on Moreno's and Haggerty's agenda. If Dee Margo's friendship with those in power will make a difference, then so be it.
No more puppets to further the stronghold and chokeholds agenda, NO MORE.

Who needs more of the same verbally abusive Bush/Craddick self serving types or con artists who funnel money their wa?
No one believes that the democrats are to blame. Individuals who happen to run as democrats but wheel and deal with the self serving country club republicans and are funded by the same are the problem. There are some good republicans like the moderates Haggarty was who actually consider some of their constituents.
The political party is not the problem it is the individuals who run on any platform just to get in office or abuse their "power".

thks dave I knew I wasn't the only one asking this question but I am the only one asking it out loud. And as for the premise that he was the solution for a possible Haggerty loss...that was obvious and still is...I
