The lawyer working for residents of the Lomas de Poleo community in regards to their land dispute was shot and killed in Chihuahua City June 20. Police said the investigation was ongoing, they have no suspects, and the motive is unknown.

Something every bit as bad as the feminicides is occurring in Juarez, yet few people in the U.S., or even El Paso, know or care. At Lomas del Poleo, an entire community is being tossed for basically the same reasons the area's females have been blotted out. The people are considered disposable.

The memorandum obtained by NPT contains a list of suggested bid specifications drawn up by Jaime Rubinstein on Jan. 24, the date of an executive session of the Housing Authority of the City of El Paso board. One of Rubinstein's bid specs states flatly that Aliviane's program "will be the only approach considered."
